Lip Blush Before + Aftercare
The lip area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive and non-irritated. Here’s how to prepare your skin for the procedure:

Before your treatment
•No waxing, threading, tweezing on or around the mouth for at least 7 days
•Avoid alcohol, caffeine, aspirin/ibuprofen and any vitamins (fish oil and/or vitamin E) that may thin your blood for at least 24-48 hours (do not discontinue any medications without consulting your physician first)
•Do not work out the day of your procedure
•Discontinue Retinol, Retin-A, Tretinoin, Differin, acids, or Vitamin A products at least 4 weeks prior
•No chemical peels, microneedling, IPL, laser, Botox or fillers within 4 weeks
•Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds or self-tanner for 2 weeks prior

LIP PREP IS KEY: Dry, chapped lips do not retain pigment well. Begin gently exfoliating and hydrating lips daily 7–10 days prior to your appointment.

If you have ever had a cold sore, it is recommended to take an antiviral medication (like Valtrex) for 2-3 days before and after your appointment to prevent an outbreak. Consult with your doctor beforehand.

An in-person consultation is required if you have permanent makeup done by another artist in the past, regardless of how faded it may be.
After your Treatment
Step 1: Gently cleanse your lips morning and night using your fingertips, cool water and the provided cleanser. Thoroughly rinse and dry the area by lightly patting dry with a clean towel.
Step 2: Apply a thin layer of balm after cleansing. Make sure your skin is completely dry before applying. Be sure to keep your lips moisturized at all times during the healing process.
Repeat steps 1 & 2 twice a day for 7 days
Complete healing time is 4-8 weeks. Light scabbing and itching is normal during the healing process- do not pick or scratch at the scabs. At about the 2 week mark you may notice the color get very light and have a milky looking quality to it. This is known as milk skin and is common in tattooing. Trust the process and the true color will reveal itself in 4-8 weeks.
Important Reminders
For 7 days
•Do not get your lips wet besides following instructed aftercare
•Do not pick at your lips
•Drink using a straw
•Avoid spicy/salty foods
•Keep your lips moisturized
•Avoid steam or sweating from hot showers/exercise
•Do not apply any product that is not your aftercare to the area
•Avoid kissing, oral contact or sharing drinks
*Avoid direct sunlight and/or tanning beds for at least 2 weeks – after that be sure to apply an SPF to prolong the color of your tattoo (tanning will cause it to fade quicker)
*No fillers, facials, Botox, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion treatments until your tattoo is completely healed
The aftercare process is essential in achieving beautiful results that last. Please adhere to all before and aftercare instructions carefully. Healing and pigment retention vary by individual. Results depend on skin type, lifestyle and adherence to aftercare instructions.
